We were proud to mark the grand opening of Marion’s Place, a meaningful milestone in delivering 32 below-market homes for single mothers and their children in partnership with the YWCA Metro Vancouver.

Located in the heart of Metrotown in Burnaby, Marion’s Place offers more than just housing—it provides a foundation for stability, dignity, and opportunity. Designed with families in mind, the community offers access to private amenities alongside nearby parks, transit, schools, shopping, and libraries. This connectivity helps ensure that residents are not only housed, but supported in building strong, vibrant lives within their community.

Marion’s Place reflects what’s possible when purpose-driven partnerships come together. Working alongside the YWCA, this project responds directly to the urgent need for safe and affordable housing for single mothers—one of the groups most affected by housing insecurity in our region. The building is thoughtfully designed to foster a sense of belonging, safety, and community, where families can truly thrive.

Housing is more than buildings—it’s about creating spaces where people feel secure, connected, and empowered to move forward. Marion’s Place stands as a testament to that belief.

As Henry McQueen, Vice President, Development at Qualex-Landmark, shared:

“Building new homes is challenging in this economic environment, so to have the Affordable Housing Fund available to help bring this new community to life is extremely rewarding. We are so pleased to be able to deliver these 32 homes for the YWCA and the families that rely on their services.”

We invite you to learn more about this impactful project by reading the YWCA’s feature on Marion’s Place and the families it will support.

Together, we are helping create stronger communities—one home at a time.

For many single mothers and their children across Metro Vancouver, safe and stable housing remains out of reach. Rising costs and limited supply continue to create barriers, leaving families without the security they need to build a strong future.

Marion’s Place was created to help change that. Delivered in partnership with YWCA Metro Vancouver, this new community provides much-needed affordable homes designed specifically for single mothers and their children—offering not just shelter, but a pathway toward stability and independence.

What makes Marion’s Place especially impactful is the holistic support available to residents. YWCA Metro Vancouver staff provide onsite, wrap-around services tailored to each family’s needs, along with access to a broader network of programs that support personal wellness, education, and economic advancement. This integrated approach ensures that families are supported not only in where they live, but in how they grow and thrive.

The impact of this kind of support is deeply personal and transformative. As one YWCA housing resident shared:

“YWCA housing through their programs and resources helped me to recover mentally, to rebuild myself, my mind and believe again in my capacity to achieve my goals.”

Stories like this highlight the importance of creating housing that goes beyond physical space—housing that restores confidence, fosters resilience, and opens doors to new opportunities.

At Marion’s Place, housing is paired with community, care, and connection—helping families move forward with strength and stability.
