Park Point Offers True Downtown Vibe

Sleek and sexy is the best way to describe Qualex-Landmark’s latest condominium project in Calgary’s Beltline area. Situated just a few blocks from the city’s downtown, on the corner of 2nd Street and 12th Avenue S.W., Park Point will overlook Central Memorial Park and offer stunning views of the downtown core and the Stampede grounds. It’s steps away from one of the city’s most historic green spaces with its Victoria-era inspired gardens and Memorial Park Public Library, as well as a multitude of restaurants, bars and coffee shops.
The bold architecture embraces a pair of contemporary towers with a staggered profile, one tower stretching 34 storeys skyward and the other 27, creating a dramatic silhouette against the city’s skyline.
The project offers a collection of 287 homes consisting of one- and two-bedroom designs with optional den/flex space. At street level, Park Point will feature a limited number of two-storey townhomes and a vibrant retail component.
With the recent unveiling of Park Point’s Discovery Centre, located just a few blocks from the project on 11th Avenue and 3rd Street S.W., buyers can get an idea of exactly what their new home will look like. The centre show cases two show suites: plan 01, a 560-square-foot, one-bedroom home with a 108-square-foot terrace; and plan 07C, a 1,024-square-foot, 2-bedroom plus den plan with an L-shaped 88-square-foot terrace.
Both homes feature excellent use of space with generous use of three-dimensions. Every inch is utilized effectively.
The details are truly lovely. Plan 07C features dark grey, wide-plank laminate flooring as the design backdrop. Textured grey silk wallpaper covers several feature walls, juxtaposing beautifully with the off-white textured wood kitchen cabinetry. Also finished in the textured wood, the fridge melds in with the cabinetry offering a clean, flat profile wall. Add to that a large island topped in sleek grey granite with swirls of black ribboning cascading to a waterfall edge painted in the textured wood of the cabinetry and the look is very cosmopolitan.
Keeping the styling congruous, the granite extends the full height of the wall, adding swish to the backsplash.
European-style appliances include a five-burner cooktop, and wall oven.
Floor-to-ceiling windows, allow plenty of light to stream through the space, creating a cheery space. Both bedrooms are generously sized. The master bedroom features a walk-through closet and spa-like ensuite with floor-to-ceiling porcelain tiling and a double vanity.
A den with floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides overlooks the L-shaped terrace that provides plenty of space for outdoor lounging and dining al fresco.
Amenities within the project are extensive and include an outdoor rooftop yoga and Pilates sundeck with a zen terrace and open air lounge and an indoor private owners’ lounge and workout studio with a sauna and steam room. Park Point will offer a 24-hour concierge service.
Homes start from $250,000 with no parking. With parking, homes start in the low $300,000s. The two-bedroom plus den 07C plan is $625,000.
Occupancy is slated for early 2018.
